Overview

In September 2016, the government’s changes to the Disabled Students’ Allowances (DSAs) came into effect. Non-medical helper (NMH) providers will be audited on a regular 12-24 monthly interval. It is therefore essential for higher education professionals to understand the changes and prepare for audit of non-medical helper support by the Disabled Student Allowances – Quality Assurance Group (DSA – QAG).

This is particularly important because of the increasing numbers of disabled people entering higher education and the fact that the DSA is an essential part of universities’ compliance with the Equality Act.

This Implement the Changes to the Disabled Students’ Allowances course enables you to understand the changes to the DSA and gives you the practical tools and techniques to prepare for audit by the DSA-QAG.

Through interactive sessions, work with the chair, Mike Wray, to review your current preparation and examine the best ways of supporting disabled students.
