Service Manager, Housing Service - Fife Council

I have worked in the housing field since 1988 working for both Dunfermline District Council and Fife Council.

I have been very lucky in having a career which has combined managing Area Housing Teams and working on large scale service change projects. Some of the projects I have been involved in are – developing a new Housing Allocations policy, developing Housing Options Advice models for use across the Council, developing and getting Care Inspectorate registration for Housing Support services.

In recent years I have been the Councils Service Manager for Housing, Health & Social Care. This involves managing all the specialised supported housing across Fife, public protection work and managing internal Housing Support services.

I have led the development of our domestic abuse services through the Improving the Way We Work Project – this has been a 4-year programme to look at better ways to support people who have experienced domestic abuse and has transformed the way we deliver services. We now have a person centred approach which helps the service user work through what is the best options for them.
