Kate Sturdy
Executive Coach and Mentor
Kate is a qualified executive coach and mentor (L7, Institute of Leadership and Management). She has over 20 years senior leadership and management experience in local government, private sector and the UK civil service, working extensively with Boards, senior public sector policy and strategy leads, front-line practitioners and politicians.
Kate has a strong track record in learning and development and change management. She is an experienced and highly-regarded facilitator, practised in leading training sessions in topics such as leadership, policy making and strategic thinking, and in senior team development. Her style combines warmth and inclusive engagement with probing challenge. Within local and national government and private sector, she has established and developed high performing teams, improved motivation and engagement, and led the development of service-wide learning and development and diversity & inclusion interventions.
As an independent executive coach, mentor, facilitator and Director of Kate Sturdy Coaching, her coaching practice has included working with senior managers in the Civil Service, NHS and private sector. She has accreditation from the Engendering Balance Centre as a Balance in Leadership practitioner, and endorsement in neuroscience for leadership coaching from Professor Patricia Riddell, Clinical Psychologist, University of Reading. She is a fully qualified practitioner in Hogan’s psychometric assessments. Kate is a member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council and abides by their code of conduct.
Kate started her career as a teacher and holds a BA (Hons) degree, Postgraduate Certificate in Education, and Master of Arts with distinction in Education Policy.
